Aid International is a fund-raising charitable trust, a partnership of charities taking aid to the poor, run as a part of Bristol Community Church.
Since 1999 we have been taking teams of people across the world to do sponsored bike rides, treks and marathons to raise money for a variety of projects and charities.
Aid International is a unique fundraising charity in that we do not have our own projects. Instead we support other charities, raising money for them to use as they see fit. We are currently working with more than 30 charities, raising vital funds for them.
Additionally, we send Build Teams to Lusaka, Zambia and also to Guatemala, to help out with a number of projects helping street children and orphans. In Guatemala, our work takes place on projects run by our partner charity, Gifts of Love International.
If you decide to participate in one of Aid International's events, you will need to sign up and pay a registration fee, after which you will get your fundraising pack.
This includes everything you need to know, from the legal requirements of selling raffle tickets, to tips on how to hold a successful event, as well as a 'Letter of Authorisation' to fundraise on behalf of Aid International, and several sponsorship forms.
Then it's up to you to raise as much money as you can - there's a minimum target which you will have to reach - while we get on with the details of arranging the trip, from getting your flights booked to sorting out accommodation.
Everyone who raises money through one of our events can nominate a recipient charity.
An initial registration fee covers admin costs associated with your chosen project, while travel and accommodation costs are then taken from the total amount raised.
Of the remaining net total raised, 80% will go to the chosen charity, while 20% gets split between Aid International's work in Zambia and Gifts of Love International's work in Guatemala.
